Desert Insects
There are about 1,000 species of bees in the Sonoran Desert alone, divided into 45 genuses and seven families. This vast desert environment also has around 3,900 kinds of blooming vascular plants. An enormous diversity of insects and tiny vertebrate pollinators may be found within this huge floral combination. The majority of desert plants can be pollinated by native bees, but some are better suited to beetles, wasps, flies, butterflies, and moths. Hummingbirds and bats, among other tiny animals, are common desert pollinators.
